The protein encoded by this gene is a cell-surface glycoprotein involved in cell-cell interactions, cell adhesion and migration. It is a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and can also interact with other ligands, such as osteopontin, collagens, and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). This protein participates in a wide variety of cellular functions including lymphocyte activation, recirculation and homing, hematopoiesis, and tumor metastasis. Transcripts for this gene undergo complex alternative splicing that results in many functionally distinct isoforms, however, the full length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. 4% Paraformaldehyde-fixed Hela (H) cell; Triton X-100 at r.t. for 20 min; Antibody incubation with (human CD44) monoclonal Antibody, FITC conjugated (bsm-30038M-FITC) 1:100, 90 min at 37°C, DAPI (blue, C02-04002) was used to stain the cell nuclei. PBS instead of the primary antibody was used as the blank control.
The Hela (H) cells were incubated in 5%BSA to block non-specific protein-protein interactions (30 min at r.t.). Primary Antibody (green): Mouse Anti-human CD34 antibody,FITC conjugated (bsm-30038M-FITC): 1 μg/10^6 cells; Isotype Control (orange): Mouse IgG/FITC (bs-0296P-FITC). Blank control (black): PBS. Acquisition of 20,000 events was performed.
